Our Story

Hi! I’m Zoe the founder of Butter Nut of London. We make luxurious award-winning nut butters from ethically sourced organic ingredients. 



Butter Nut was launched from my kitchen table in Tooting having spotted a gap in the market for nut butters with a difference. I make velvety smooth and seriously crunchy, innovative varieties of nut butters that are a little bit luxurious from sustainably sourced ingredients.

No one talks about where ingredients come from, and I want to change that. All of my ingredients are organic (except for salt which is a compound and cannot be classified as organic!) and ethically sourced. My nut butters are vegan, free from palm oil, refined sugar and gluten.

I started small selling at farmers markets around London on the weekends and quickly outgrew my home kitchen.

Unable to set up my own professional kitchen due to lack of funds but determined to make a success of Butter Nut, I worked for almost a year for free, two days a week, for a catering company in Tooting. In exchange I used their professional kitchen during evenings and weekends to make my nut butters.

As Butter Nut grows, we stay true to our roots. I source all of our ingredients from organic and sustainable farmers and we handcraft all of our products in small batches.
